Re: Dyche

I think we tend to miss one really big chance every few games which inflates the Xg... The amount of times we've somehow not got the ball over the line when it seems almost impossible not to do so (Palace and Fulham immediately jump to mind but there's been lots of others) is crazy. I'd argue Garne...

Re: Dyche

I think the context of the game and the contrasting approach has made it feel bad. The way they are playing, how flat, slow, ponderous. The same switch, cut back, lump, bad cross. Go back, switch, cut back, lump, bad cross.

Re: Dyche

It's finally making me question xg. The chances we are 'creating' are just NOT good quality chances I don't care what anyone says. Swinging a boot at a bobble in the box or leaping 7 foot to guide a header, these are not good chances created.

Re: James Garner

A player is labeled as hard working when they run about a lot but is actually a bit crap and doesn't really contribute anything of note. I was hard working for my 6 a side team. One of my mates dads once said of me : "he's an honest player" Which I think is the nicest backhand I've had.

Yeah true, he changes things massively just by wanting the ball and being comfortable taking it on the turn.

Re: James Garner

To be fair it's hard to judge a midfielder in this side.

For some reason Tark is our main ball player. Everyone else is crowding around.

If you swapped Ross Barkley for James Garner at the start of the season I'm not confident he wouldn't be having an identical season.

Re: James Garner

He has the ability to do more but he just isn’t. It doesn’t really seem tactical as I am sure Dyche would want him playing more progressively forward when he is on the ball. Given the above, I think you have to have him sitting in front of the back 4, and allow the another CM to move further forwar...

Re: Dyche

I think to have a game at goodison with the context that game had, against relegation rivals, and serve that up for 70 minutes is a deep reflection of his understanding of the club.

We are not Burnley.

Re: Dominic Calvert-Lewin

Most chances aren't 1s that they should score. He's not scoring any though. He's apparently statistically the worst finisher in all of Europe's top leagues. Pretending he isn't the problem is just daft. His finishing is going to get us relegated Denying the football he has us playing is having a de...
