Re: Relegation

41 points with 3 games it's not unreasonable to expect to pick up more points in.

We clear 45 points and it's been quite a successful season by any realistic metric

Re: Financial Fairplay Investigation - Further 2 points deducted.

Thinking it should be less than 2 seems highly unlikely

Re: Relegation

Not losing to Luton is our A1, absolute top priority for the rest of the season.

Dchans wrote: Sat Apr 20, 2024 9:18 pm So what do people realistically think we need - 4 points enough, given the form and fixtures of the other teams??

As long as the 4 come against Forest and Luton I think it could be.

Against Sheff U and Brentford and I wouldn't bet my mortgage on staying up with another 4.

Re: Relegation

Yeah, that looks pretty grim for them.

Not beyond the world of possibility for them to get 6 points though. Beat forest at home and a fluke in one of the others

Re: New Everton Stadium at Bramley Moore Dock

No, we're thinking we will sell a minority stake in it.

Hopefully to an events and media organisation as opposed to a hedge fund.

Re: David Moyes

To be fair, the OP of this latest round of discussion mentioned Moyes being DoF if he wants to step away from coaching.

Re: Relegation

Can see more points deductions being bandied about for the next couple of seasons till the new rules come in

But agree the winner of us v Forest is probably safe

Wages + net amortised transfer fees = 80% of turnover

Unless you're City, then you can just do what you want anyway.

Brentford v Sheff U

Chelsea v Everton
Would bite your hand off for 5 draws and a City win there.
Maybe even a sneaky little Sheff U win

Re: Jarrad Branthwaite

Yeah exactly, no harm in doing it when it's called for, just think he needs to iron out when it's required and how to avoid it when not. Not a criticism though as he's great already, more highlighting what he needs to do to kick on to that next level. Yeah, he's very much a work-in-progress. If he ...

Re: James Garner

Freakonomics that though isn't it?

Is he only starting as a 6 for the games the manager is deploying specific instructions? If he started as a 6 more often against more varied opposition, would that be a more reflective stat of the teams general results?

Re: Beto

We've brought in a better version of Oumar Niasse. Better in relation to him. Not in relation to anything else. But, Niasse had little purple patches and grabbed the odd goal. Mainly because defenders are drilled to death on what an attacking footballer is going to do 90% of the time. These guys don...
