Re: End of Moshiri - Friedkin Purchase Falls Through

On the Talking the Blues podcast, The Esk gives a fairly succinct (well, 20 min) explanation of why the Freidkin Group pulled out. Not far off what Kieran Maguire said in his tweet. Basically, uncertainty around where that £200m 777 lent us, actually come from and which of the parties in question ac...

Re: Pre-Season 2024

It’s the middle of their season so they’re match fit. We’re not. It’s a huge leveller. And, tbf, we’ve had a load of chances.

Re: Euro 2024 Discussion

Almost every team looked shagged. It wasn’t a great tournament at all. Compare that to the WC in Qatar and it was night and day.

Having a tournament mid-season felt like anathema at the time but think there’s an argument for playing it when players look fresh and interested.

Re: Summer Transfer Window Discussion

Think Keane and Holgate move on too, so add a couple of CBs to the list.

Think Utd come back in for BranthwIte before the end of the window but hopefully we’re in a position to turn it down.

Re: Amadou Onana

There are only so many clubs capable of paying £50m for a player and if those clubs don’t need a DM, then that will also impact his price.

Re: Amadou Onana

I think the Caicedo fee has skewed our perception of what is a good fee. I just think that was a mad summer from Chelsea.

£50m - £55m is still a massive fee for this club.

Re: Dominic Calvert-Lewin

I think he’d score 8 goals if he played 38 games, but he can’t hold the ball up so we’d have to completely change the way we play.

Re: Summer Transfer Window Discussion

Hull accepted a bid for the player and Villa had a clause in their former players contract to be able to match any bid. They’ve matched the £16m bid from Ipswich. If, say, we went in with an £18m bid, Villa would have another 3 days to match it. Etc etc. Essentially just a bidding war. Depends what ...

Sure the kits will be fine but the Castore/Stake combo is just a bit grim. Hardly blue chip stuff.

Ipswich probably came back with a revised contract offer.
