Re: Dominic Calvert-Lewin

DCL has never been a prolific goalscorer (bar one short lived purple patch under Ancelotti) & likely never will be. If we’re relying on him alone to score enough to keep us up we’ve had it. It’s a team issue - look at Brighton away last season - DCL didn’t score but he had an excellent game &...

Re: Dyche

We were beyond terrible last night but in 12th place with no points deduction I think it would have been a very different performance, different atmosphere, everything. I don’t think the pressure of being in the bottom 3 can be underestimated and that goes through to team selection, tactics & pl...

Re: Relegation

The excuse are getting very straw man like his hands are tied so why tie them tighter by playing Godfrey and young and not starting Onana and taking him off after 60/70 minutes why constant long balls to no one why not try dobbin or chermiti every so often he has options but won’t use them because ...

Re: James Garner

I can see both sides of the booing thing On our (the fans) side - people who have paid their hard earned are perfectly entitled to boo if they want to boo - especially if they’re watching absolute dross From the player’s side, especially if they’re struggling for form, confidence or whatever, it’s n...

Re: Mykolenko

I think sometimes we (meaning football supporters generally not just Evertonians) can be too quick to write players off

In our case the same could maybe be said for Garner & Beto (fingers & legs crossed)

Made up for Myko though

Re: Dyche

I don’t even think some of our football would be that bad if we could only learn to pass better. Plenty of good looking moves break down due to a player miscontrolling the ball or a simple pass going astray.

You could say that if he was never getting chances to score but he’s had a fair few this season and missed them.

Re: John Hurst

As a kid I always wondered why he wore the number 10 as a centre half. Loved him and that whole late 60's-early 70's team. Heady days. RIP. I was going to post the same comment about his shirt number. Apparently it was Harry Catterick who converted him into a centre half so don’t know if that expla...

Re: John Hurst

Sad news, watched him as a kid. Brian Labone (5) and John Hurst (10) were a great centre half pairing.

Re: Financial Fairplay Investigation - Deducted 10 points

From The Times: Silence over Manchester City proves this is tone-deaf posturing Everton and Nottingham Forest deserve punishment for breaching financial rules but would the champions be treated this toughly? Of course the answer is no January 15 2024, The Times It was surprising to see the chief exe...

Assuming the 10 points stand, I still think we’ve a fight on our hands to stay up even without further deductions

Re: Financial Fairplay Investigation - Deducted 10 points

Don’t think I’ve ever disliked anything more than football atm. The game and the people who run it are rotten to the core
