Former Newcastle boss Joe Kinnear has revealed that Michael Owen almost moved to Goodison Park during the last January transfer window.

Owen, who has today joined Manchester United on a free transfer after letting his contract at Newcastle run down, has been a long term target of David Moyes, who just missed out on his man in January.

Joe Kinnear said, "Numerous clubs looked at him in the last window. There was a big chance of him going to Everton.
